2025 – Phil Lalonde

• Known affectionately as Coach Phil, Phil Lalonde has left an enduring mark on Soccer Pointe-Claire through his leadership, mentorship, and unwavering commitment to soccer. A long-time volunteer, coach, and past President, Phil’s dedication to the club and to women’s soccer has spanned decades—even continuing after his kids stopped playing soccer. In 2022, only one year after his ALS diagnosis, Phil turned a lifelong dream into reality by launching an annual adult recreational soccer tournament. Despite facing the challenges of living with ALS, Coach Phil devoted his time and energy to organizing this tournament, which has raised $235,000 for ALS Quebec over the past four years. His leadership has also established a committed team to carry the legacy forward. His strength, compassion, and tireless commitment to the community embody the very spirit of this award. Coach Phil has not only shaped players, but brought our soccer family together in the most meaningful way. We are honored to present him with the 2025 Club Recognition Award.
• Surnommé affectueusement « Coach Phil », Phil Lalonde a laissé une empreinte indélébile au Soccer Pointe-Claire grâce à son leadership, son mentorat et son engagement indéfectible envers le soccer. Bénévole de longue date, entraîneur et ancien président, Phil a consacré des décennies à son club et au soccer féminin, même après que ses enfants aient cessé de jouer au soccer. En 2022, un an seulement après avoir reçu son diagnostic de SLA, Phil a réalisé le rêve de sa vie en lançant un tournoi annuel de soccer récréatif pour adultes. Malgré les défis liés à la SLA, Coach Phil a consacré son temps et son énergie à l’organisation de ce tournoi, qui a permis de recueillir 235 000 $ pour ALS Québec au cours des quatre dernières années. Son leadership a également permis de mettre sur pied une équipe dévouée qui perpétuera son héritage. Sa force, sa compassion et son engagement sans faille envers la communauté incarnent l’esprit même de ce prix. L’entraîneur Phil a non seulement formé des joueurs, mais il a également réuni notre famille du soccer de la manière la plus significative qui soit. Nous sommes honorés de lui remettre le prix de reconnaissance du club 2025.

2024 – Catherine Renaud

• Catherine is an invaluable and steadfast member of our club. She dedicated many many years as a volunteer prior to becoming a Club staff member and puts in countless hours organizing the rec side of our operations and is indispensable in organizing and taking care of our teams to ensure we have as many players/teams as possible. She is always on top of things, coordinates and resolves any issues and is a team player, implementing club policies even when challenging. Catherine always ensures that her programs’ players have what they need, including getting older players to donate / sell their old stock. Our club would not be the same without her.
• Catherine est un membre inestimable et inébranlable de notre club. Elle a consacré de nombreuses années à titre de bénévole avant de devenir membre du personnel du club et consacre d’innombrables heures à l’organisation du volet récréatif de nos activités. Elle est indispensable pour organiser et s’occuper de nos équipes afin de s’assurer que nous avons autant de joueurs et d’équipes que possible. Elle est toujours au courant de ce qui se passe, coordonne et résout tous les problèmes et a l’esprit d’équipe, mettant en œuvre les politiques du club même lorsqu’elles sont difficiles à mettre en œuvre. Catherine s’assure toujours que les joueurs de ses programmes ont ce dont ils ont besoin, y compris en incitant les joueurs plus âgés à donner ou à vendre leur vieux matériel. Notre club ne serait pas le même sans elle.

2023 – Grant Needham and Mary O’Farrell

• When Canada Soccer announced its new club licensing program, Soccer Pointe-Claire set as its target the Provincial License.  The Club felt confident that it had the right community of players to reach for this goal. This would be no easy task and would require a tremendous amount of work and organization.  Grant Needham was hired as our Sporting Director two years ago to help achieve this license. With his determination, efforts, and deep-rooted knowledge of the game, we were successful in obtaining a Provincial License in December 2022.  Since then, Grant has worked to improve all our offerings and services, including the benefits of our new CIP partnership with CF Montréal.  For these reasons, we are happy to present Grant with the SPC Club Recognition Award.
• Lorsque Canada Soccer a annoncé son nouveau programme de reconnaissance des clubs, Soccer Pointe-Claire s’est fixé comme objectif l’obtention d’une reconnaissance provinciale.  Le club était persuadé qu’il possédait la bonne communauté de joueurs pour atteindre cet objectif. Ce ne serait pas une tâche facile et cela exigerait beaucoup de travail et d’organisation.  Grant Needham a été engagé comme directeur sportif il y a deux ans pour nous aider à obtenir cette licence. Grâce à sa détermination, à ses efforts et à sa connaissance approfondie du jeu, nous avons réussi à obtenir une reconnaissance provinciale en décembre 2022.  Depuis, Grant a travaillé à l’amélioration de toutes nos offres et de tous nos services, y compris les avantages de notre nouveau partenariat CIP avec le CF Montréal.  Pour ces raisons, nous sommes heureux de remettre à Grant le prix de reconnaissance.

• Mary has been with the Club now for just over 2 years and has become an indispensable member of our team. Her dedication and professionalism are appreciated by all our staff and members, as well as the wit and humour she brings to our communications. The migration from PTS to Spordle this year, made 2023 an extremely challenging year for all of us in the office, more so than any in recent history, and that is saying a lot as we just came out of a pandemic! But through it all, Mary put in the long hours that it took to get the work done and learned the new system and kept the communication lines open with Spordle to seek the resolutions of our long list of support tickets. Thank you Mary for being such a positive force!
• Mary travaille au Club depuis un peu plus de deux ans et est devenue un membre indispensable de notre équipe. Son dévouement et son professionnalisme sont appréciés par l’ensemble de notre personnel et de nos membres, de même que l’esprit et l’humour qu’elle apporte à nos communications. La migration de PTS à Spordle cette année a fait de 2023 une année extrêmement difficile pour nous tous au bureau, plus que toute autre dans l’histoire récente, et ce n’est pas peu dire puisque nous venons juste de sortir d’une pandémie ! Mais malgré tout, Mary a consacré les longues heures nécessaires à l’accomplissement du travail, a appris le nouveau système et a maintenu les lignes de communication ouvertes avec Spordle pour trouver des solutions à notre longue liste de tickets d’assistance. Merci Mary d’être une force aussi positive !

2022 – Lisa Artuso

• Lisa has been the foundation of the Club for the last 6 years and a team manager for another 5 years before that. Her incredible knowledge, dedication, work skills and work ethic, are exceptional. With regular unforeseen circumstances that affect our activities (e.g. Covid, supply issues, field availabilities, etc.), Soccer Pointe-Claire has continued to offer its services and run smoothly due to Lisa and her incredible focus. Lisa always goes above and beyond to get the job done, ensuring ALL facets of the club are running and concise. From club licensing to programs to registrations, Lisa’s incredible energy and insights have moved Soccer Pointe-Claire to new levels. Lisa’s consistent dedication to the Club and its members make her this year’s recipient of the Club Builder Award.
• Lisa est à la base du club depuis 6 ans et a été gérante d’équipe pendant 5 ans auparavant. Ses connaissances incroyables, son dévouement, ses compétences et son éthique de travail sont exceptionnels. Malgré les circonstances imprévues qui affectent régulièrement nos activités (p. ex. Covid, problèmes d’approvisionnement, disponibilité des terrains, etc.), Soccer Pointe-Claire a continué à offrir ses services et à fonctionner sans heurts grâce à Lisa et à son incroyable concentration. Lisa se surpasse toujours pour faire le travail, s’assurant que TOUTES les facettes du club fonctionnent et sont concises. De la licence du club aux programmes en passant par les inscriptions, l’incroyable énergie et les idées de Lisa ont permis à Soccer Pointe-Claire d’atteindre de nouveaux sommets. Le dévouement constant de Lisa envers le club et ses membres fait d’elle la lauréate de cette année du Prix du bâtisseur de club.

2021 – Jonathan Markiewicz

• Jonathan has made tremendous strides with the Club’s direction and successfully moved our Club to the ‘next level’ on many fronts. Preparing the club for licencing, helping us achieve and maintain regional status as well as working tirelessly to get the Club that much closer to a provincial level, has been a time-consuming task and one that he has taken on with a great deal of zest and energy. He has clarified our vision and short and long-term goals. The process will take time to develop and implement, but Jonathan’s mission is clear and structured. We appreciate the intensity and spirit in which he applies himself to everything that he does for the Club.
• Jonathan a fait d’énormes progrès dans la direction du club, et il a réussi à faire passer notre club au niveau supérieur sur de nombreux fronts. Préparer le club pour l’obtention d’une licence, nous aider à obtenir le statut régional et travailler sans relâche pour nous rapprocher du niveau provincial, a été une tâche qui a pris beaucoup de temps, et qu’il a assumée avec beaucoup d’énergie. • Erika is always taking charge of every situation. Even when her child is injured and or sick, she shows up keeps us on time and ensures that the health and safety of our boys is always her top priority. She goes above and beyond her tasks and is always looking for ways to make the program planning easy and fun for all. She has been helping our category now for 2 years and manages our 3 groups, with over 50 players, in an incredibly organized fashion.
• Erika prend toujours les choses en main, quelle que soit la situation. Même lorsque son enfant est blessé ou malade, elle se présente à l’heure et veille à ce que la santé et la sécurité de nos garçons soient toujours sa priorité absolue. Elle va au-delà de ses tâches et cherche toujours des moyens de rendre la planification du programme facile et amusante pour tous. Elle aide notre catégorie depuis maintenant deux ans et gère nos trois groupes, avec plus de 50 joueurs, de manière incroyablement organisée.

2024 – Bessie Michael

• Bessie has been the manager for our M2012 CDC group for several years. She has dedicated countless hours organizing the players and activities, and been a consistent and positive presence throughout. Managing a CDC age group of this size is no easy task, and the Club is lucky to have Bessie take on this role continuously.
• Bessie est la responsable de notre groupe CDC M2012 depuis plusieurs années. Elle a consacré d’innombrables heures à l’organisation des joueurs et des activités, et a été une présence constante et positive tout au long de l’aventure. Gérer un groupe d’âge CDC de cette taille n’est pas une tâche facile, et le club a de la chance que Bessie assume ce rôle continuellement.

2023 – Philip Bernardino

• Phil’s commitment to this Club is truly inspiring. His efforts, dedication, and the positive impact he has had on many players, parents and peers is nothing short of remarkable. 13 years and going strong as a Coach, Player, Captain and Mentor; his guidance and support have instilled some valuable lessons in teamwork, discipline, growth and perseverance from the younger players to the Senior teams. He has fostered a love for the game among many young players. This award is a testament to Phil’s passion and the countless hours he’s put into making this Club better and we are fortunate to have him here. Well-deserved Phil!
• L’engagement de Phil envers ce club est une véritable source d’inspiration. Ses efforts, son dévouement et l’impact positif qu’il a eu sur de nombreux joueurs, parents et pairs sont tout simplement remarquables. Depuis 13 ans, il est entraîneur, joueur, capitaine et mentor. Ses conseils et son soutien ont permis d’inculquer de précieuses leçons en matière de travail d’équipe, de discipline, de croissance et de persévérance aux jeunes joueurs et aux équipes seniors. Il a fait naître l’amour du jeu chez de nombreux jeunes joueurs. Ce prix témoigne de la passion de Phil et des innombrables heures qu’il consacre à l’amélioration de ce club, et nous avons la chance de l’avoir parmi nous. C’est bien mérité, Phil !

2022 – Véronique Lozeau

• Véronique has been volunteering as a manager for her daughters’ CDC groups for many years. She has done a great job and dedicated many hours in coordinating and communicating with the 60-girls and their parents. In addition, she also managed the groups at two tournaments this year and collaborated to have many of the players participate in the inaugural Family Fun Festival. Véronique’s on-going commitment and contribution to our club’s youth program makes her this year’s recipient of the Volunteer of the Year Award.
• Véronique est bénévole depuis de nombreuses années en tant que responsable des groupes CDC de ses filles. Elle a fait un excellent travail et a consacré de nombreuses heures à la coordination et à la communication avec les 60 filles et leurs parents. En outre, elle a également géré les groupes lors de deux tournois cette année et a collaboré pour que de nombreuses joueuses participent au premier Fabuleux Festival Familial. L’engagement et la contribution continus de Véronique au programme juvénile de notre club font d’elle la récipiendaire du prix du bénévole de l’année de cette année.

2021 – Danny Trotto

• Danny’s enthusiasm, positivity, commitment and dedication to the Club, make him this year’s volunteer of the year. Always willing to help out, he dedicates tremendous amounts of time lending a hand whenever he can. Whether it is standing in as an assistant coach, coordinating team equipment, acting as the MU8 and MU11’s sanitary manager, with his kids in attendance or not for practices or games, he can always be relied upon to be there for his groups. Danny Trotto is an amazing role model for our community and players.
• L’enthousiasme, l’attitude positive, l’engagement et le dévouement de Danny envers le club font de lui le bénévole de l’année. Toujours prêt à aider, il consacre énormément de temps à donner un coup de main chaque fois qu’il le peut. Qu’il s’agisse de remplacer un entraîneur adjoint, de coordonner l’équipement d’une équipe, d’agir comme responsable sanitaire des MU8 et MU11, que ses enfants soient présents ou non aux entraînements ou aux matchs, on peut toujours compter sur lui pour être présent pour ses groupes. Danny Trotto est un modèle extraordinaire pour notre communauté et nos joueurs.

• Inspiring his players through technical competence and a winning sportsman’s-like spirit, Federico led his team in a competitive division where the difference between the top 5 teams was only 5-6 points. Incurring no losses and posting an impressive average 5-1 goals for/against per game ratio, his team finished first in the division. For his leadership, inspiration and results, Federico is well deserving of this award.
• Inspirant ses joueurs grâce à ses compétences techniques et à son esprit sportif gagnant, Federico a mené son équipe dans une division compétitive où la différence entre les 5 meilleures équipes n’était que de 5 à 6 points. Sans subir aucune défaite et affichant un impressionnant ratio moyen de 5-1 buts marqués/encaissés par match, son équipe a terminé première de la division. Pour son leadership, son inspiration et ses résultats, Federico mérite bien ce méritas.

2024 – Mehdi Haghi Zadeh

• Mehdi took his M14 LDP team to the top of their division, finishing second and ahead of all the National clubs in that division. He also developed 2 players who were selected by ARS LSL to compete in the summer tournament which LSL ultimately won, one of those players also being selected for the Quebec Provincial Identification Program.
• Mehdi a emmené son équipe M14 LDP au sommet de sa division, terminant deuxième et devançant tous les clubs nationaux de cette division. Il a également formé deux joueurs qui ont été sélectionnés par l’ARS LSL pour participer au tournoi d’été que la LSL a finalement remporté, l’un de ces joueurs ayant également été sélectionné pour le programme d’identification provincial du Québec.

2023 – Keenyn Crooks

• Keenyn has been a part of Soccer Pointe-Claire since 2009. He started as a player, and then moved into his first coaching role with SPC in 2014. In addition to coaching, Keenyn has been our Recreational Technical Lead since 2021 when we implemented the CDC training format for our U10 and U12 Youth Recreational teams. This summer, Keenyn was instrumental in rebuilding a group of young players and instilling the passion to play. His hard work and tireless effort helped lead his team to a championship year, finishing 2nd overall during the regular season and going on to win gold in the FU14 LDR playoffs. Keenyn is an invaluable member of the SPC tech staff, and we are proud to announce Keenyn as the 2023 Competitive Coach of the year!
• Keenyn fait partie de Soccer Pointe-Claire depuis 2009. Il a commencé comme joueur, puis a assumé son premier rôle d’entraîneur à SPC en 2014. En plus d’être entraîneur, Keenyn est notre responsable technique récréatif depuis 2021, année où nous avons mis en place le format d’entraînement CDC pour nos équipes récréatives U10 et U12. Cet été, Keenyn a joué un rôle déterminant dans la reconstruction d’un groupe de jeunes joueurs et dans l’inculcation de la passion du jeu. Son travail acharné et ses efforts inlassables ont permis à son équipe de remporter une année de championnat, en terminant deuxième au classement en saison régulière et en remportant la médaille d’or lors des séries éliminatoires de la FU14 LDR. Keenyn est un membre inestimable de l’équipe technique de SPC, et nous sommes fiers de l’annoncer comme l’entraîneur de compétition de l’année 2023 !

2022 – Nick von Roretz

• Nick has been coaching with Soccer Pointe-Claire for 17 years. His tireless efforts and amazing ability to develop players make Nick a stand-out coach. Dedication, trust and a mentality of player first are the foundations Nick builds his team on. This summer he led his team to a first-place finish in the league, followed by a gold medal in the playoffs. His team also participated in the Videotron Cup, a provincial soccer competition, and won. Nick’s attributes, soccer knowledge and organizational skills make him this year’s recipient of the Competitive Coach of the Year Award.
• Nick est entraîneur à Soccer Pointe-Claire depuis 17 ans. Ses efforts soutenus et son incroyable capacité à développer les joueurs font de Nick un entraîneur hors pair. Le dévouement, la confiance et la mentalité du joueur avant tout sont les bases sur lesquelles Nick construit son équipe. Cet été, il a mené son équipe à la première place de la ligue, puis à une médaille d’or lors des séries éliminatoires. Son équipe a également participé à la Coupe Vidéotron, une compétition provinciale de soccer, et a gagné. Les qualités de Nick, sa connaissance du soccer et son sens de l’organisation font de lui le récipiendaire du prix de l’entraîneur compétitif de l’année de cette année.

2021 – Mike Rogers

• As FU15A head coach, Mike shaped a new team and finished 3rd overall in the standings. Not an easy feat! Mike is a leader who is a role model to many players. He works to create an environment that motivates each player to reach their highest potential, both as an individual player and as a member of the team. We hope to see Mike continue with his group well into the future. His dedication is very much appreciated by all!
• Comme entraîneur chef pour l’équipe FU15A, Mike a formé une toute nouvelle équipe et a réussi à terminer 3ème au classement général. Ce n’est pas un exploit facile! Mike est un leader qui sert de modèle à de nombreuses joueuses. Il s’efforce de créer un environnement qui motive chaque joueuse à atteindre son plus haut potentiel, à la fois en tant que joueuse individuelle et en tant que membre de l’équipe. Nous espérons que Mike continuera à travailler avec son groupe à l’avenir. Son dévouement est très apprécié par tous !

• Kathryn worked diligently with her players inspiring them towards continuous improvement and fostering a competitive spirit. Through her leadership, the players learned and developed fundamentals of soccer, appreciation of the value of competition and a genuine enjoyment of the game. The Soccer Pointe-Claire girls’ program is lucky to benefit from Kathryn’s leadership and technical abilities, helping to guide and inspire our young players.
• Kathryn a travaillé avec diligence auprès de ses joueuses, les incitant à s’améliorer continuellement et encourageant leur esprit de compétition. Grâce à son leadership, les joueuses ont appris et développé les bases du soccer, ont appris à apprécier la valeur de la compétition et ont découvert le plaisir authentique de jouer. Le programme féminin de Soccer Pointe-Claire a la chance de bénéficier du leadership et des compétences techniques de Kathryn, qui aide à guider et à inspirer nos jeunes joueuses.

2024 – Meghan Hunt

• Meghan was highly involved in different programs within the club. Her tireless efforts and commitment to the SPC community did not go unnoticed. Meghan was instrumental in helping rebuild the girls CDC program and was the head coach of the 2012 girls who were transitioning into the youth competition category.
• Meghan était très impliquée dans différents programmes au sein du club. Ses efforts inlassables et son engagement envers la communauté SPC ne sont pas passés inaperçus. Meghan a joué un rôle déterminant dans la reconstruction du programme CDC pour les filles et a été l’entraîneur chef des filles de 2012 qui passaient à la catégorie juvénile compétitif.

2013 – Kerry Anne Payette

2025 – Bryan James

• Bryan has been a devoted coach in the recreational league for many years. He started by coaching with the Micro program from 2014 to 2017 as well as one year as an M10 coach in that same period. After a few years off, he returned in 2022 to coach his older daughter in F10. Then, when his younger daughter reached the F10 age in 2023, he continued coaching both daughters’ teams, making this his 3rd summer of coaching 2 teams. He currently coaches the F12 Fury and the F14 Fury. Players and parents greatly appreciate Bryan as a coach, as he is supportive of the players with positive guidance and builds a strong team spirit. Additionaly, attendance at games and practices is high because he always keeps it fun. Soccer Pointe-Claire is lucky to have such an amazing coach!
• Bryan est un entraîneur dévoué dans la ligue récréative depuis de nombreuses années. Il a commencé comme entraineur avec le programme Micro de 2014 à 2017, étant entraîneur M10 une saison également au cours de cette période. Après quelques années d’absence, il est revenu en 2022, entraînant sa fille aînée en F10. Puis, lorsque sa fille cadette a atteint l’âge F10 en 2023, il a continué à entraîner les équipes de ses deux filles, ce qui en fait son 3e été à entraîner 2 équipes. Il est présentement entraineur des équipes F12 Fury et F14 Fury. Les joueurs et les parents apprécient grandement Bryan en tant qu’entraîneur, car il appuie les joueuses avec des conseils positifs et établit un bon esprit d’équipe. L’assiduité aux matchs et aux pratiques est élevée parce qu’il réussit également à toujours garder le jeu amusant. Soccer Pointe-Claire est chanceux d’avoir un entraîneur aussi incroyable !

2024 – Gerry Castellano

• Gerry has been coaching his son’s team for 4 years now. He is a very considerate coach and treats each player with the utmost respect. Because of this, he is able to get the best out of his players, no matter their skill level. He is very dedicated to his team and deserves the recreational coach of the year award for all his efforts.
• Gerry est l’entraîneur de l’équipe de son fils depuis maintenant 4 ans. C’est un entraîneur très attentionné et il traite chaque joueur avec le plus grand respect. Pour cette raison, il est capable de tirer le meilleur parti de ses joueurs, quel que soit leur niveau d’habileté. Il est très dévoué à son équipe et mérite le prix de l’entraîneur récréatif de l’année pour tous ses efforts.

2023 – Marta Ezcurra

• Marta Ezcurra has been a coach in the recreational league for 8 years, starting at the F09/10 level, moving up with her daughter as the years went by and this past summer was one of the F15/16 Fury team coaches. Marta leads by example, since she is herself a soccer player, having played both in the Senior and the Champagne Leagues for several years. As a coach, she encourages her players to give as much as they can, all the while keeping it fun. Her efforts over the years have kept players in soccer, we are never short of players in her age group, with often a long waiting list! Marta is an invaluable coach for Soccer Pointe-Claire et deserves to be recognized as such.
• Marta Ezcurra est entraineure dans la ligue récréative depuis 8 ans, en commençant au niveau F09/10, passant à chaque prochain niveau avec sa fille, à mesure que les années passaient. Cet été, elle était une des entraineures de l’équipe F15/16 Fury. Marta mène par l’exemple, étant elle-même une joueuse de soccer depuis de nombreuses années, ayant joué dans les ligues Sénior et Champagne. Comme entraineure, elle encourage les joueuses à donner le meilleur d’elles-mêmes, tout en gardant cela amusant. Ses efforts constants au long des années ont aidé à garder des joueuses dans le soccer. En effet, nous ne manquons jamais de joueuses à son niveau, et nous avons même souvent une liste d’attente! Marta est une entraineure d’une valeur inestimable pour Soccer Pointe-Claire et mérite que son travail soit souligné.

2022 – Glenn Brown

• Glenn has coached soccer since his twin daughters have been F10; they are now F18. His philosophy has always been for the players to have fun together playing soccer, no matter the score. Over the years, he has coached a core group of girls who continue to play soccer together because they enjoy it. He is a dedicated soccer coach and also coaches ringette in the winter. He has convinced ringette players to try soccer and vice versa, thereby instilling not only a “soccer for life” mentality for many players, but “sport for life” as well. This is especially important with teenage girls who tend to stop playing sports. His dedication and persistence paid off this year when his F18 team was finalist of the Regional Local League after winning the semi-final game of the playoffs in shootouts.
• Glenn est entraineur de soccer depuis que ses filles jumelles sont F10; elles sont maintenant F18. Sa philosophie a toujours été que les joueuses s’amusent ensemble en jouant au soccer, peu importe le résultat. Depuis ses débuts, il entraine un groupe de filles qui continuent de jouer ensemble parce qu’elles aiment ça. Il est un entraineur dédié et entraine également la ringuette l’hiver. Il a déjà convaincu des joueuses de ringuette d’essayer le soccer et vice-versa, encourageant non seulement le mantra « soccer pour la vie », mais aussi « sport pour la vie ». Ceci est particulièrement important avec des jeunes filles qui peuvent avoir tendance à délaisser le sport rendus à l’adolescence. Son dévouement et sa persistance ont amené son équipe F18 cette année à être finaliste régionale de la Ligue locale, après avoir gagné la partie de demi-finale en tirs de barrage.

2021 – Joshua Fireman

• Joshua started coaching with Soccer Pointe-Claire in 2013, when he coached both his daughters’ FU10 and FU12 teams. Since then, he has consistently coached 2 teams until 2020, when he coached just the FU18 team, and returned to coach that team in 2021, even though he no longer had a daughter on the team! Over the years, he has been dedicated to the players and gave them confidence in their soccer abilities. He is an excellent motivator and reinforces the importance of teamwork. Many girls would have stopped playing were it not for him. This was his last year as a Youth Recreational Coach, but we are lucky that he will now continue with a Senior Recreational team!
• Joshua a commencé comme entraîneur avec Soccer Pointe-Claire en 2013, lorsqu’il a entraîné les équipes FU10 et FU12 de ses filles. Depuis ce temps, il a toujours entraîné deux équipes jusqu’en 2020, lorsqu’il a travaillé uniquement avec l’équipe FU18. Il est revenu entraîner cette équipe en 2021, même s’il n’avait plus de fille dans l’équipe ! Au fil des ans, Joshua s’est dévoué aux joueuses et leur a donné confiance en leurs capacités de jouer au soccer. Il est un excellent motivateur et renforce l’importance du travail d’équipe. Sans lui, de nombreuses filles auraient cessé de jouer. C’était sa dernière année en tant qu’entraîneur de Juvénile Récréatif, mais nous avons la bonne fortune qu’il va maintenant continuer avec une équipe Sénior Récréatif !

2025 – Julien Dubois

• Julien has been with us for quite some time, and he recently (last year) advanced to being one of our center LOGS referees. This year, he has gone further by being one of our main LOGS and CHL center referees for the season and additionally, heavily supporting our referee development program. Julien mentored many of our first year referees this year as they took their first forays onto the pitch. He also was our evaluator for the SPC delegation sent to the Brossard Challenge, a tournament that is often seen as a rite of passage for prospective referees wanting to advance within the Lac St. Louis Region. Julien often follows-up on referee development, and asks questions before games wherein he knows one of his assistants may be new. Does my assistant still need guidance? Have they resolved this issue? How can I help them tonight? Congratulations Julien for your excellent season.
• Julien est avec nous depuis un certain temps déjà, et il est récemment (l’année dernière) devenu l’un de nos arbitres centraux LOGS. Cette année, il est allé encore plus loin en devenant l’un de nos principaux arbitres centraux LOGS et Champagne pour la saison et, en outre, en soutenant fortement notre programme de formation des arbitres. Julien a encadré un bon nombre de nos arbitres de première année cette année, alors qu’ils faisaient leurs premiers pas sur le terrain. Il a également été notre évaluateur pour la délégation SPC envoyée au Brossard Challenge, un tournoi souvent considéré comme un rite de passage pour les arbitres en herbe qui souhaitent progresser dans la région du Lac Saint-Louis. 2024 – Aveleen Tyson

• Aveleen advanced to the Champagne center level this year and has officiated a great number of matches. Beyond this, Aveleen was also involved in the mentoring of our latest class of younger referees. Her support was a key element in making the onboarding of 60 new referees work.
• Aveleen est passée cette année au niveau du centre de Champagne et a arbitré un grand nombre de matches. En outre, Aveleen a également participé à l’encadrement de notre dernière promotion d’arbitres plus jeunes. Son soutien a été un élément clé dans l’intégration de 60 nouveaux arbitres.

2023 – Isabelle Lecouffe

• Isabelle Lecouffe is a young referee who has displayed many excellent traits: courage, match control, responsibility and ambition ranking among the top. She has performed exceptionally well this year and began doing the Champagne level in the center as well as a number of higher-level games at the regional level where she solidly represents our club. Isabelle successfully managed the Champagne final this year and will be nominated by the club to the regional ACCEL program for next year to further increase her skills.
• Isabelle Lecouffe est une jeune arbitre qui a fait preuve d’excellentes qualités : courage, maîtrise du match, responsabilité et ambition en tête. Elle a réalisé des performances exceptionnelles cette année et a commencé à arbitrer le niveau Champagne dans le centre ainsi qu’un certain nombre de matchs de plus haut niveau au niveau régional où elle représente solidement notre club. Isabelle a géré avec succès la finale de Champagne cette année et sera nommée par le club au programme régional ACCEL pour l’année prochaine afin d’améliorer ses compétences.

2022 – Olivia Rogers

• One of Soccer Pointe-Claire’s newest referee recruits, Olivia possesses many traits we see in more experienced referees: courage, perseverance, responsibility, initiative, and availability to name a few. Her performance and attitude on and off the pitch warranted she be promoted exceptionally to the District Referee list in her first year, enabling her represent the club as a referee for the region covered by Soccer Lac-St-Louis.
• Une des plus récentes recrues d’arbitres de Soccer Pointe-Claire, Olivia possède de nombreux traits de caractère que nous voyons chez les arbitres plus expérimentés : courage, persévérance, responsabilité, initiative et disponibilité pour n’en nommer que quelques-uns. Ses performances et son attitude sur et en dehors du terrain lui ont valu d’être promue exceptionnellement sur la liste des arbitres de district dès sa première année, lui permettant ainsi de représenter le club en tant qu’arbitre pour la région couverte par Soccer Lac-St-Louis.

2021 – Austin Kokelaere

• Austin had an excellent 2021 with the team of referees. He has a strong work ethic and knowledge of the rules of the game. Countless times he has been available on short notice to referee games and is always eager to help. He’s an exceptional referee who is dedicated and truly loves what he does. He is fair and reliable, and coaches and players alike are always happy to see him at their game. We can always count on him to do his job well and enthusiastically, and is a great asset to the group.
• Austin a eu une excellente année 2021 avec l’équipe des arbitres. Il a une forte éthique de travail et une excellente connaissance des règles du jeu. D’innombrables fois, il a été disponible à court terme pour arbitrer des matchs et il est toujours prêt à aider. C’est un arbitre exceptionnel, dévoué et qui aime vraiment ce qu’il fait. 2025 – Émilie Dubois

• Émilie is one of our first-year 2025 referees. She has a unique trait of having two personalities, a great asset for a referee. Off the field she is a little nervous, very collegiate, friendly and generally happy. Once she gets onto the field she shows full confidence and becomes a stoic and tough decision maker in both her roles as a center referee and as an assistant. As a center, Émilie takes command of the field, using her whistle, voice and signals to communicate her decisions clearly across the field. Émilie has shown through her multiple goal-line or offside decisions as an assistant and through tough (but correct) decisions as a center, that she is willing to make the tough calls, and importantly, to sell those calls to everyone involved. We at Soccer Pointe-Claire are hopeful that her initial talent and effort, leads to her rising to the potential we see and advancing further up next season.
• Émilie fait partie de nos arbitres de première année 2025. Elle a la particularité unique d’avoir deux personnalités, ce qui est un atout considérable pour un arbitre. En dehors du terrain, elle est un peu nerveuse, très collégiale, amicale et généralement joyeuse. Une fois sur le terrain, elle fait preuve d’une grande confiance en elle et devient une décideuse stoïque et intransigeante, tant dans son rôle d’arbitre centrale que dans celui d’assistante. En tant qu’arbitre centrale, Émilie prend le contrôle du terrain, utilisant son sifflet, sa voix et ses signaux pour communiquer clairement ses décisions à travers le terrain. Émilie a démontré, à travers ses multiples décisions sur la ligne de but ou les hors-jeu en tant qu’arbitre assistante et à travers ses décisions difficiles (mais justes) en tant qu’arbitre centrale, qu’elle est prête à prendre des décisions difficiles et, surtout, à les faire accepter par toutes les personnes concernées. Chez Soccer Pointe-Claire, nous espérons que son talent et ses efforts initiaux lui permettront d’atteindre le potentiel que nous voyons en elle et de progresser encore davantage la saison prochaine.

2024 – Xi Cao

• Xi Cao has been an asset to the refereeing team as a new arrival to the ranks. He displays great professionalism and has been able to help with last minute replacements all year. He advanced quickly too and despite his young age has shown a maturity normally seen in referees several years older.
• Xi Cao a été un atout pour l’équipe d’arbitrage en tant que nouvel arrivant dans les rangs. Il fait preuve d’un grand professionnalisme et a été en mesure de participer aux remplacements de dernière minute tout au long de l’année. Il a également progressé rapidement et, malgré son jeune âge, il a fait preuve d’une maturité que l’on voit normalement chez des arbitres de plusieurs années plus âgés.

2023 – Trent Lecouffe

• Trent Lecouffe is a first-year referee who completed more than sixty matches in his first year which is a staggering number. In addition to being highly available, Trent would often volunteer to fill gaps created by last-minute game returns. Many of these gaps were higher level matches, such as assistant referee for LOGS, Champagne and in one case, a regional U13 LDP match. In all cases Trent not only stepped up by being present, but also stepped up by rising to the occasion and delivering high quality performances and learning rapidly to overcome the gaps in his experience.
• Trent Lecouffe est un arbitre de première année qui a terminé plus de soixante matchs au cours de sa première année, ce qui est un nombre stupéfiant. En plus d’être très disponible, Trent s’est souvent porté volontaire pour combler les lacunes créées par les retours de matchs de dernière minute.
