Hi Everyone,
I wanted to take the time to introduce myself and let you know how excited I am to be joining the Pointe-Claire Soccer Family.
The city, club, people, and players make Pointe-Claire one of the top organizations in the region and it is an honor to be able to be part of this wonderful journey.
2021 was a good year coming out of Covid – 2022 has the makings of being a fantastic year!
We are all in this together and I personally cannot wait to see everyone on the fields!
– Grant Needham
Soccer Pointe-Claire is thrilled to have added Grant as our new Sporting Director. Many of you already know, or at least know of Grant, but for those of you who don’t, here is a glimpse at his accomplishments to date!
Grant is a Canadian former professional soccer player. He has held positions on the Canadian Soccer Association’s Men’s National Team (“Team Canada”) from 1988 to 1993, as well as the Montreal Impact from 1993 to 1999, migrating from the United Soccer League (USL), to the North American Soccer League (NASL) and finally Major League Soccer (MLS). During his career with the Montreal Impact, Grant achieved several team and personal milestones such as:
- League Championships (1994).
- Selected to join the First All-Star Team (1995).
- Team record – scoring one goal in five consecutive games.
- Fifth top goal scorer (19) in Club history (1993 to 2011).
- Fifth in game winning goals (9) in Club history (1993 to 2011).
- Sixth top point earner (54) and assists (16) in Club history (1993 to 2011).
- Montreal Impact Hall of Fame Builders Club induction (2007).
Following his days as an international and professional player, Grant has maintained various coaching, technical and advisory connections with several clubs within the Montreal region. Simultaneously, he remains involved with the Montreal Impact, as a dedicated game broadcaster and analytical commentator for TSN 690AM Radio. In 2016 Grant established KISsoccer here in the West Island. Through KISsoccer, Grant has been able to harness his soccer experiences and expertise, to promote the values of skills development. As a soccer teacher, he is able to impart that knowledge onto players who are eager to improve.
He now brings his wealth of experience to Soccer Pointe-Claire! Welcome Grant!
